What priming tool is your favorite? My old LEE broke last night after 20 years of use. I’m trying to decide if I want to buy a new LEE, or try something else.
Thanks Justin

I’ve used the cast metal RCBS benchtop unit for years and love it.

Looking at an RCBS APS Bench Mounted unit and APS Strip Loader myself. Have the original RCBS bench miunt unit but is a single load primer type. Adjustable for precise repeatable seating but slow as a single loader. Rocking an older RCBS shell holder hand unit at the moment.

I like you used Lee's for years...I found the Franklin Arsenal a Great Transition....FWIW I would not waste your money on the new Lee!

If anyone's in the market for an RCBS bench mount, I have one and got to Silcott too late. Shipped cheap

I used the original Lee for years. First time it broke after untold thousands of rounds Lee sent a new arm, broke the second time and they sent me the updated model that had the blocking plate,THAT was a piece of shit. Bought the new one with the folding tray,THAT is a bigger even more aggravating piece of shit. Bought the RCBS and it works great.

Was going to say the same thing ^^^ Lee had some parts they sent me, new trays & lids for my old Lee hand prime tool... Hand Priming is really the only way I prime... I did also buy an RCBS hand prime tool... it doesn't have the same "feel" as the old Lee... plus once you make the investment in all the special shell holders, it's hard to get away from that...
if I were starting over from scratch I'd probably go with one of the hand prime tools that uses a conventional shell holder...
BTW... the squareish trays are an improvement over the round ones as far as dumping 100 primers in... my old Lee hand prime toll has the circular trays

I actually prime on the press for small batches. I have the RCBS hand tool for larger runs. I boughtt the Lee hand tool in a parts buy but haven't tried it.

I have and wore out a Lee which broke. We made another part out of some scrap metal etc. it worked ok and still does. I got a newer Lee. They said the parts weren’t interchangeable. Their parts list showed the newer part that wasn’t interchangeable, which broke on the older one, so I ordered a couple of them for future use when one brakes again. With a little work, one of the new ones fit and works with the older tool. Now I have two of them, but still go back to the older one because of the tray that worked better than the one on the new one.
