For what it's worth-
It's your gun, do as you please. If a gun has serious collector value and/or is historically important I pass. I am not wealthy; I cannot afford a gun I won't shoot, and any gun I shoot is liable to get modded to my taste/needs.

Thanks to everyone for their input. This has given me a lot to think about, and I'll let you know what we come up with.

Bout 4 years ago I picked one up, both cylinders sans box. It had been shot a few hundred to 1k rounds, had some speckling on the grip frame and a turn line on the 32-20 cylinder ect. I ended up reaming the 32 H&R cylinder to 327FM and had both cylinder throats opened up and a BP chamfer and a Belt Mountain base pin. The grip frame was traded out for a Bisley and Power Custom Bisley lock work with a Wolff reduced power trigger return spring, retaining the factoy mainspring. Pending the installation of a 2Dogs front sight and a rust blue job to complete and maybe a Bowen rear sight. That to me is perfect as everything in the safe is a shooter.

i see 4 reasons for owning a gun, there might be more but off hand i see 3, 1 as a tool. ! hunting self defense predator control etc. 2 as a Toy, slaying evil pop cans, Competition , just general fun, 3 Display, some are just works of art, and in a safe you never see it, 4 as an investment. Someone is selling one at a price where you can make money , so you buy it. Never bought a display piece, bought lots of tools and toys , and a few investments. Why did you buy this one? And just how valuable is it ? you payed 700.00. The most you could loose , is likely 200.00 I have bought guns like a 1873 winchester with the idea of learning about them, shooting them for a year or too, then selling them, I have usually come out 1 or 2 hundred in the hole on them. But so what, now i can talk about a 1873 winchester as guy who knows a little about them. Bad thing about the 1873 winchester i bought was it ruined western movies, John Wayne or nobody else ever killed villain at 1000 yards with a 1873 winchester. Just not enough power. But at 100 yards they were accurate and deadly !
