This was my first Reeder Trail Gun. It was in 38 Super. After years of enjoying it, I sent it back for more cylinders. 9mm and 38-44 H.D.to be specific. The 5-Shot cylinders are very beefy and the 38-44 H.D. Will be a hand full on the Single Six Frame. www.reedercustomguns.net/forum/index.php?id=82668

So tell me a little more about the 38/44 wildcat ? I love the .38 super , never thought of it in a revolver ! I will be sending a revolver off to garry this weekend, going to build a el Diablo in 454 casull. I have a super single 7 bisley in 327 federal, i might have him do a trail gun on it. Maybe a second cylinder in 32/20

The 38-44 H.D. isn't really a wildcat. It's Elmer Keith's loading of the old 38 Special which was built on a 44 Special frame.
It's the 38 Special loaded to 35,000 psi. I'll have to avoid EK's 173 grain load due to COAL. But, with 158 grn bullets it will be a hammer.

That is "all" very interesting on that small frame. It takes craftsmanship to make that all work......

Ok the 38/44 N frame loads, So really it will be a 5 shot tight chamberd .38 special, A power increase over the 38 super, cool idea !

A great gun made even greater....
Have two four caliber double action revolvers (66-2 3" and 60-10 3") that will shoot .357, .38 Special, 9mm and .38 Super but no single action guns...
I do not like "envy"....it makes me spend money....

Wish I could shoot that well. Wish I could see iron sights well enough to have a chance at shooting that well.
A very neat package. Kudos!

Would the cylinder be long enough for the 9x25 Dillon?
