Got an email from Dave Clements telling me the Blued Bisley Single Seven was nearly finished. So, this will be another of my long, drawn out threads.
This one is getting the full treatment just as the stainless gun did.
Action job, loading alignment corrected, barrel gap at .002", polished throat, target crown, etc.
Other features are a Ferminator Front Sight and Bear Paw Maple Grips.
The tolerances are a bit tighter on the Blue gun. The stainless gun had .314" throats and the bore miked at .3127" as close as we could measure.
The blue gun has very tight .313" throats and a .312" barrel. Should handle cast and jacketed bullets just fine.
Updates, pictures, range reports and such to follow in the coming weeks.

I'm afraid this one won't be very flashy. All the work was internal and performance oriented. Where the stainless gun got a two toned matte and polished finish, this one will be similar to factory blued.
The stainless one came back a virtual one hole gun. Betting this one will too.
The tolerances on the blue gun are somewhat tighter than the stainless version. Hoping for great accuracy with jacketed bullets.

Any idea how the "loading alignment" gets corrected . This issue has always created a constant "discomfort in the keister " . What parts get massaged or does he just "open up" the hole in the frame ?

That's a good question that hasn't been asked or answered. Dave does not freespin the Single Sevens. But, does give the cylinder much more movement within each "click" of rotation. The alignment has much more play in it and allows the cartridge to fully eject without having to make a full rotation if you pass up the window. Will reiterate that the first Single Seven he did for me has the best trigger pull of any revolver I've ever felt.

I've got a GP-100 getting a 10mm rimmed conversion, & a couple other things, there right now... thinking mine should be getting close to getting shop attention ( had to wait for the barrel to be bored, out of shop ) ... secretly hoping it's not ready too soon, since it sounds & is looking like John Powers will be done with my CCM any week now... & figured my luck, both custom guns would be looking for money at the same time???

Man, have I ever had that happen. I've started paying for all custom requests when shipping gun. In the end all I pay is return shipping and any balances from unexpected upgrades. I always ask these guys to bring gun up to par with any things they may find unexpectedly.

UPDATE: I may have spoken too soon. Spoke to Dave earlier and agreed to let him do a couple more accuracy upgrades.
Gun will be delayed a few days, but no more than a week.
With my appetite for small bore accuracy, seems a fair trade. Will report on all after gun is in hand.

Encore64, bolt block? Mike No Sir, not in this one. It locks up rock solid with perfect alignment. It definitely had some issues from the factory, but that they got right.
