Found a guy here in oregon who sells sample packs of his cast bullets. Ordered and received 2 packs of 115 gr .314 sized RN FPs 25 rounds packs . These are marked on his site for the .32/20. (Badman Bullets). They have a deep crimp groove right behind the mushroom head. The size and weight are very close , I loaded some up, over 5 grains of W-231. And they come out almost to the mouth of the cylinder. Did some measuring and i have only about .030 room in front of the bullets. Needles to say I crimped them very well. I Plan to send the Bisley off to Clements for an action job, In a few weeks, and looking at his sight I see he makes a longer cylinder. Line Board and the whole nine Yards. Don,t Know if I want to spend the 850.00 Bucks though. I think I will just do the action job for now, I have a fermin garza front sight on the way. I enjoy this gun and caliber. I might Really enjoy it if i went Whole hog on the Cylinder and maybe even a color case frame , thinking also of a Bowen Rough country rear sight. But it seems to me the advantage of the longer Cylinder would come into greater play with heavier bullets. I am pretty new to this single action revolver thing. I would love to hear your opinions ! ...tj3006

tj3006 Play with the gun and at the same time keep notes on different items needing done on the gun or want done...If you have never had a custom done then ask questions and then build one there is nothing like it...At least once

Since you handload, I'll tell you there are no two finer cartridges than the 32 Magnum and 327 Federal.
I'd give serious thought to the way you're headed. Get Dave to fully customize your 32 Magnum now and add a 327 Federal later.
The best bullet I've found for the 32 Magnum is the 115 grn GT Hollow Point. It's too long for the 327 Federal Single Seven, but ideal in the 32 Magnum's shorter case.
Dave is finishing my second custom Single Seven now. A 38-40/10mm Blackhawk is next. But, after that the Bisley 32 Magnum is headed east to get the full treatment.
You're entering into a bottomless pit of Smallbore addiction. Congratulations...

To really get the most out of a single 7, it is my opinion that you must cast your own bullets. For example, mp-molds makes a mold they call the “mjolnir”, using my wheelweights , the weight comes out to 127gns. This bullet loaded to 1.497” maximizes the short cylinder of the S7. If I cast it in a large hollow point configuration it weighs 123gns with my mixture. It is a large meplat bullet. This bullet over 10.0gns of 2400, gives you super performance in the S7. I powder coat all my bullets and size to .314. edited to add 12.0gns of h110 under the mjolnir has also been a very good load for me.

Some very good advise here gentlemen. Thank you ! My Bisley is a SS7 chaberd for the .327 Federal, i also have an SP101 chambered for the .327. I will not be casting my own bullets anytime soon. I still work around 57 hours a week, so no time for that. But i just might have Dave go the Whole rout , a new Cylinder, and case hardening. I would prefer a six shot to the 7. Shots feels unholy somehow !

Definitely send it to Dave for his action/accuracy work, just adds to the enjoyment of an already tremendously fun revolver. A couple of years ago he converted a .32 Single Six to .327 for me; it is surely my favorite revolver of all I own. As a point of comparison, the new longer cylinder used in the conversion is actually .010" SHORTER than the cylinder in my Single Seven.

My opinion only, the real benefit to a new cylinder is the much better potential for accuracy from better alignment at the barrel/cylinder due to being align-bored. That may or may not make a big difference, but the potential is there. Sounds like you may not gain length, certainly something to balance when making that decision. For me, if I could get some more length it would be hard to resist. I'm not sure that my skills would show much improvement over the factory cylinder in relation to accuracy improvement of a custom cylinder. With this cartridge, the ability to stuff more powder in the case would be something I would find hard to resist in the single seven.

Magpouch has given good advice. But, a case in point was my Clements Stainless Single Seven.
I bought three of the 7.5" guns fairly cheap for project guns. I sent Dave the worst of the bunch. It shot okay, usually in the 1.7-2" range. Had a .010" barrel gap to boot.
Had Dave give it the full treatment. Action job, polish throat, zero endshake,.002" barrel gap and matte finish.
Now, the gun shoots under 1" at 25 yards with .313-.314" cast bullets. It does not like cast bullets .312" or under.
Spend some time with your gun and decide...

I shot my Bisley today with the 115 grain Badman bullet, over 5 grains of W-231, Took me awhile to get my do do together, But one i did i was very happy ! The .314 size is good for the , Gun i think. But before i go much hotter, i want a gas check. I did not Chroney the load, but it should be in the 1200 range. I walked 25 paces from the Target and got 6 into the 2 inch square around the 1 inch bullseye ! So who sells a good 115 or 120 inch gas checked bullet sized at .314 ? Thanks !
