I had one in my Alaskan and it was great! It was made by HiViz and I remember ordering it from Midway

Thanks and sight upgrade and holster now wanted, as the gun with new cylinder in place is working out nicely. I did manage to work myself into a cylinder of sticky extraction but I had to try hard ! A Sixshot 385gr HP long seated on a pile of A2400 did need a bit more effort to extract, but DID. I needed a bit of super glue for a split nail and a band-aid.. I'll call it a draw and fear bears no more. LOL. Ouch.

Have been unable to make up my mind as to holsters for the Alaskan. Young friend with a pallet of Kydex and volunteered to make me holsters is terribly busy with work and a young family. Means well, but we can't get together often. A holster for the M69 still not done in a year plus. So.. just a ordered a UnclecoughMike'scoughHipcoughHolster from Midway. Just to have something. How are you guys packing your Alaskans ?

I've been considering a Simply Rugged Pancake per Paul105's posts. On the short list. Thanks.

I did find a holster here that was made to fit an airsoft/paintball gun. It's a camo nylon with velcro attachments, your all allowed to grown now ! The Alaskan with a full cylinder, is quite a bit heavier than the little Bulldog or the svelte M69. Wasn't sure my Carhart shorts and belt were gonna stay up ! It just seems kinda weird to wear suspenders with shorts unless your in an Umpah band ! But I found a nylon strap saved from a duffle type bag with plastic keeper snaps at both ends. Clipped to the rear center belt loop and the one just to the right of the belt buckle is working.

Ok, the Alaskan n me continue to bond. Not gonna try and quote, but someone here way more experienced and respected, said something along the lines of, due to the size of the parts and motion to go thru, the SRH, Rh's are not likely to have the DA feel of a well broken in K frame. Yes, BIG parts being thrown threw large arcs.. Further and heavier loads being tried and brass now ejecting easily. Happy.

Well Bula you got me, I caved last night. All the in this thread talk about 480 Alaskans made me miss my 44 Alaskan. So I went looking for a 480 Alaskan and found one about to close. And Im happy to report I won the opening bid and should be able to join in on the fun soon. This will be my third 480.
