Probably late to the party here on this but just got my issue of Shooting Times and it has big spread about it. Its one I have always wanted and prices for this one are reasonable unlike the earlier run which have gone thru the roof.

Just picked up a 4 inch model. Seems ok, crappy trigger. Have not shot yet.

Hard to imagine a Smith with a crappy trigger!

Last last 2 Smiths I bought have less than the usual trigger quality that Smiths are known for.

629-6 I bought not too long ago, 2019 mfg, had a DA pull heavier than a lead block.. Wilson springs fixed that but easily the heaviest factory pull I’ve felt.
Smith, Ruger, they’re all in the same boat imo. Hopefully you can find one in person. Bring a feeler gauge, check endshake, timing, b/c gap, hopefully joe schmo hasn’t swung the cylinder shut.

I may pop for one if a rifle I am bidding on goes south. One thing at a time.

I had a 6.5 on layaway but I cancelled it. The gun had minor finish issues I thought I could take care of but I don’t want to pay $800 for a gun with issues. I even looked at another identical gun but it was same way. I still want one but I can wait
