When this Freedom Arms Model 83 Premier Grade 454 Casull with two conversion cylinders popped up in the WTS on the Ruger forum at less than half of FA'S current price list, I could not stop myself from responding I will take it. Fit and finish are stunning. The trigger pull is "barely noticeable", need to gauge it.

Nice, what are the other two cylinders?

Presumably, a Model 83 .454 Casull, with .45 Colt cylinder, and the .45 ACP cylinder in the revolver, as the two cylinders shown are counterbored. Six inch an eminently practical length. David Bradshaw

It was a beautiful gun. I barely fired it. Now I can order the same style in 44mag. Thank you. I hope you enjoy it.

BEAUTIFUL AND VERSATILE REVOLVER, YOU DID WELL. WILL YOU PUT OPTICS ON KIT OR KEEP IT OS?
I HAVE HOT RODDED THE 45 COLT TO 454 EQUIVALENT LOADS IN XTRA 45 COLT CYLINDERS IN MY MODEL 83's. FA CHAMBERS THE 454 TIGHT BUT CHAMBERS THE 45 COLT LOOSE, AND FOR HUNTING I ONLY USED UNFIRED BRASS. NOW I MOSTLY JUST USE THE 454 CYLINDERS IF I WANT TO GO ATOMIC.

I saw that deal,, and if it hadn't been for the fact I already have a FA in 454 & all,, I would have likely bought it. Yo9u got a nice one!

Very nice! I've been on a very low key hunt for one as well just waiting for the right time, looks like you hit the right time on this one with what I would say is a STEAL!

Congrats!!!
I don't have the patience to deal with custom gun building, but one of these days Freedom Arms may rescue me from the burden of second string SA revolvers. Would love to own a couple of them. In the meantime, hopefully you'll post range reports and pics so I can live vicariously thru you. Lol.

Wow! That's an awesome kit ! Really miss my 454 Field Grade. Would love to have a Premier Grade. And with 3 cylinders, wow.

The bad thing about owning a Freedom 454 with 3 cylinders is that you don't need another gun!! It will do it all and then some! Dang Freedom Arms!!

Beautiful gun...and everything you need...
Had one just like it minus the .45 ACP cylinder...extremely accurate...only sold it because my wrist and elbow did not care for the recoil of the .454 so I found and identical gun in .41 Magnum and have lived happily ever sense....
Enjoy!!

That picture brings back a good memory. About 13 years ago, I lucked into a similar deal with the same two extra cylinders. I don't remember what percentage of a new gun that I paid, but I do remember that I didn't hesitate to pay it. Since then, due to a snafu on my part, I have ended up with another cylinder in .45 Win Mag.
I have to say that when I received my gun, it needed a good cleaning and a light rubdown with maroon Scotchbrite. The lack of attention apparently didn't affect the fit and tightness of the gun. It was fine. The only thing I would like to change is the barrel length. I prefer a 5½" barrel instead of the 7½".
They are a great gun. You will enjoy it two ways: Pride of ownership and enjoyment shooting it.

You may not NEED another gun,, but who says you can't WANT another gun? Exactly! Dang Freedom Arms keeps reminding us that we don't need another gun... Like my buddy who HATES the 30-06.... because it's the only rifle you need and he's a self confessed GunAholic!
