Have no luck getting a body on the phone today or late last week. Online...go to get shipping cost bumps me back to homepage.. Truly HATE technology. Doesn't work for me. Want a firelapping kit for the cruddily built 480's and just the bullets for last bought Ruger 44 specs. Likely will not buy new Ruger anything again.

I'll second LBT and their lapping kit. Though I have done two stainless 45 bisleys with Beartooth's kit as well. I also have used LBT's barrel slugs for checking the bore diameter, easy to use.

#3 on LBT. I've firelapped several pistols and a couple of rifles...with one container of compound, still have some left. The most remarkable improvement was on a Charter Bulldog. You could see the rollmark *inside* the bore. Ironed that out and accuracy improved tremendously. Another was a SR 22 Ruger pistol. I used the Aguila subsonic 60g heavy-weights to lap it. I agree it's easy to use. I used Verals slugs to measure and also cast some pure lead in my own mold to slug the 44 barrels I had.

I've been using a NECO kit for over 5 years and done countless Rugers. Seems like they all get it to some degree now. I eventually ran out of the course grit as it goes quickest . I substituted some Clover 230 GR and finish with Neco 400 and 800. Probably time to reorder as I MUST have this stuff on hand. www.neconos.com/category/PRESSUREFIRELAPPING-20
