Does anyone have a load using H335 in the .25-20 Winchester? I am starting to load for this and trying to use the powders I already have on hand. I am also looking at a standard 85 grain lead bullet but the 55 grain hollow point from GT Bullets is intriguing as well. I am shooting a Savage 23B bolt action for this round.
Thanks in advance.

I use Lil Gun, H110, 2400, Unique and sometimes AA1680.
H335 will be far to slow in the small case.

Thanks for the suggestions above. My favorite powder for .32magnum/.327 Federal is Titegroup so maybe that is where I should start.

A quick report after getting good advice. I started with 5.0g of HS-6 and using a 85g, plain base bullet. The chronograph showed 1440 fps which is plenty fast for me. I think that might be as fast as I want this round to go for me. I also checked the 86g Remington load and it was comparatively plodding along at 1039 fps out of the 24' barrel. This is just a fun round that can make shots happen if I pay attention.

The 25/20 is a neat little cartridge. Several years ago one of my sons' took a couple of mule deer using a cast bullet, #257420 GC & 2400 in a model 43 Winchester. Both were around 50 yds, had to use 2 shots on the buck but he was down & out in a hurry.

TINSTAR: WHAT ARE YOU PLANNING TO USE YOUR 25 WCF RIFLE ON AND/OR FOR? 1,440fps IS A LITTLE SLOW OUT OF A RIFLE. I AM GETTING 1,5XXfps OUT OF A BOWEN/RUGER 5 1/2 INCH BLACKHAWK IN 25 WCF WITH A 85gr CAST BULLET.

45MAN, I am not much of a hunter for game but I do have a coyote and feral dog issue with my chickens and fainting goats. I also have what seems to be an inexhaustable supply of cotton tail rabbits that ravage my garden plot. The factory loading would be enough for any of those within fifty yards. The 85g lead is fun to shoot and cheaper than the jacketed bullets. I am shooting a Savage 23B bolt action so I guess spitzer bullets would be a possibility if I decide to hunt.
