It is definitely shrounded. But so are the Super Redhawks. How does one tell it is tensioned?

8 shot GP that uses SRH lock work, it sounds like a .357 SRH?

Only smaller framed. And much more handsome.

So how are they fitting 8 shots in a GP-100? Is this frame and cylinder intermediate-sized between the standard GP and the SRH? If so, I want one in .41 mag!!!

YES, WHAT I WANT TO KNOW IS WHAT IS THE FRAME SIZE? IS IT BIGGER THAN A GP-100? AS BIG AS A REDHAWK OR SRH? CURIOUS MINDS WANT TO KNOW.

Here's our answer: www.realguns.com/articles/1097.htmA Super Redhawk without the frame extension. In other words, Bowen's GP44 directly from Ruger's custom shop! Finally! I'm not too enthusiastic about the price, but can't wait for future standard factory iterations and chamberings, like .41 mag and .45 Colt. I also like the shrouded barrel, since one could theoretically more easily adjust barrel-cylinder gap. It does appear that the topstrap is rather thinned...

THE "rather thinned" TOPSTRAP BOTHERS ME, WHY WUD THEY BULK IT UP EVERYWHERE ESLE? AND THIN IT DOWN HERE?

I like it. Though it's 10 ounces heavier and $600 more than the S&W 686PC I've been looking at. Probably get the Ruger though.

That topstrap may be thinner than the SRH, but to me it doesn’t look too thin.
Does anyone care to measure their Redhawk to compare the sizes in the article?

I'd be all over a stainless 6" .41Mag.
