I SPENT YESTERDAY MORNING SHOOTING THREE LEVERGUNS CHAMBERED IN SIXGUN CARTRIDGES. MARLIN, ROSSI, AND HENRY. THE FIRST TWO DID A REAL JOB ON MY FINGER SAND LOADING THE HENRY 1860-STYLE WAS A WELCOME RELIEF.

I'm a Levergun fanatic & I love my Henry's as they are...I've never seen the loading tube as a hindrance at all, especially for a hunting rifle. Still, I see this as a welcome addition as well as more proof that Henry is listening to it's customer base.

THE LOADING GATE WORKS MUCH BETTER WITH RIFLE CARTRIDGES SUCH AS .30-30, .35 REMINGTON AND .38-55 THAN IT DOES WITH SIXGUN CARTRIDGES.

I like the idea a lot. If they make their big boy steel in 327 and 41 mag with this feature I'll likely bite.

If they ever include this in the big boy steel with the 16 inch barrel I'll get one....to quote a Quigley one liner...that's for sure and for certain.

Has anyone been able to modify the Henrys to allow a longer COL that would enable using the same handloads as in, say Blackhawks?

The example that I have had the opportunity to inspect at the NRA AM over the past two days was well done, and maintained the tube loading capability in addition to the loading gate. The Henry rep that I spoke to confirmed that additional calibers will follow, including the 45/70.
