Your money. They’re still not relatively “rare” by any means. When they truly become rare they’ll command crazy prices, and those who wish to procure at that time will speak their wallets and drive the price further and quickly. Those who cannot will wish they did when the getting was good, and those who modded had better be happy with their labor of love. I say do what what you want, be happy, and shoot the hell out of it.

Yep definitely not rare even the mis-marked barrel models don’t seem to be. People have been moding them for decades still always quite a few fir sale on GB alone in the box. There are much rarer model guns no longer made that people chop up still do I won’t feel bad about making this one into my vision. Besides companies today can’t help themselves with re-making previous models bc many just don’t seem to have the creative vision to make new things; while not the same comparison, movies for example how many today are not “new” there re- makes of movies already made or naming the 4 different movies the same name/title. They need to listen to what customers want not just something cost effective with no imagination. IMO

I have a 25-2 also. It had .456 throats and would not shoot well. I sent the revolver to S&W and they installed a new cylinder on with tight throats. The new cylinder is in stainless steel so now I have a "Pinto" gun that looks very nice. I still have the original cylinder. The new cylinder shoots much more accurately with .452 bullets than the old one did. The gun is a true pleasure to shoot!
