JT also has an article in Guns Magazine (June 2019) on loading for the 32 Caliber Lever Guns.
I had also forgotten to list my Marlin 62 in 256 Win Mag. Gary Reeder recently built me an O.M. Single Six in 256 Win Mag to accompany it. I've had zero set-back issues.

That must be a thumper on both ends, but especially on the shoulder out of a 5 1/2 # rifle. Would be a great bear country tool. Ya, with full on 454 loads you know it when you touch one off. It does have a recoil pad on it that helps. But with standard 45 Colt loads it's a pussycat.

22, 32-20, 44, 30-30, 375, 444 Winchester and Marlin here. I always look over the lever gun rack when I walk by. I have not embraced the BLR.. There is a 450 Marlin BFR that caught my eye but I'll go Marlin before I go BFR anything..

I love pistol caliber lever guns. Right after I bought my first 44 mag revolver I bought a Rossi 92 44 mag to go with it. I think I enjoyed shooting that more than the revolver. Now I have eight Rossi 92s and a marlin 1894 CST. My Rossi's include, 2 454 Casull, a 16" stainless and a 20" blue. Both Pumas 2 44 mags, both 20" blue, one Puma the other a Braztech. 2 357s, a blue 16" and blue 20" 2 45 Colt, one blue 16" and one ranch hand 12" With price old Marlins and Winchesters go for it's not hard for me to choose a Rossi for half the price. I have had some issues with them but nothing I couldn't solve myself with some minor gunsmithing. Parts can be tricky to find but they are out there.

Only have a Marlin 39, Marlin .357, Rossi 92 16" SS .357, Rossi 92 16" .44 Mag and a 20" Rossi 92 .454 C. The .454 makes a great gopher gun. Load used in picture was 250gr XTPs at 1,750 fps. Currently the .454 is sighted in with 300gr Nosler Partition HGs at a about 1,850 fps. Paul

I talked to my friend with the 357 yesterday afternoon. He told me that with the 180 gr cast gc Buffalo Bore ammo he Chronographed it . It was producing 1850 fps from the 18" barrel. That's right up there with the 30/30 , but from a tiny revolver cartridge. That would work great on caribou at close range. And his gun holds 10 of them. Snyd; are those rifles still sold here in the U.S. ?

I am really happy with my Navy/Rossi 92 Short Rifle in .357 - pretty versatile and unintimidating long arm. Sent from my Lenovo TB3-X70F using proboards

Paul, I read your last sentence while looking at your avatar and subconsciously read it as “velocity from Labrador” ........I was wondering how the Labrador was calibrated.

I'm a huge fan of pistol caliber leverguns. 357 magnum is a great man/medium game cartridge from a rifle. 44 magnum is a whole new level. Modest recoil, good terminal ballistics. 50 state friendly for general use, unlike the AR-15 platform. What's not to like? I really like the pistol caliber leverguns.

The .454 makes a great gopher gun. Paul I've been shooting ground hogs within 75 yards with my 44 mag Rossi using a 265gr GC ranch dog bullet going 1650 fps. A little overkill maybe, but then again so is the 280gr WFN I've hit them with too. I like the challenge of shooting them with open sights.
