First thought was great dispatch gun for the trapline. Mrsp $249.00 so maybe $180.00 or so at lgs. At that price what the heck, I’ll buy one

It may get someone into revolvers for the first time. I hope they sell a ton of them.

Seems to me to be a good entry level single action. With a low street price it's the perfect opportunity for someone to get their feet wet with a single action revolver that might otherwise be looking at a Heritage or some other budget single action. The newcomer that starts with an entry level Ruger will likely stay with the brand and buy upscale Rugers down the road. Sounds like smart marketing, and a way to build brand loyalty to me.

I haven't held one yet, nor had the ability to examine one. However, for someone looking to get started on a budget or someone needing a tool to run a trap line, or any other used for a tool, looks like it'll be great. It doesn't have the attractive features of deep bluing and great wood grips which I prefer, but bumping around the farm, in a tractor or combine, or living it's life as a tool to dispatch vermin. What's not to like. Sure I'd like to concealed carry a Nighthawk Custom 1911, or use the Series 70 Gold Cup to check cows, but when it comes to washing real bullsh*t off of either one of those guns, I find a great deal of comfort running the Springfield XDM under the water hydrant to get the poo and afterbirth off of it, rather than the Gold cup. YOU NAILED IT PERFECTLY--I'VE ALREADY ORDERED ONE.

Sounds like some folks have never had to watch their pennies. I remember when a cheap .22 revolver cost a weeks pay and a good one (S&W K 22) cost two.
Providing it's a good, reliable, firearm and not just a low-dollar POS, …I think it's great.
I will probably buy one just to save wear and tear on some of my "nice" guns.

I think my wife would love one ! I would also. Seems like that is around what I paid for my very first revolver. A Ruger Single Six Convertible 22 rf/ 22 WRM. Around 40 years and 5 months ago. It had an aluminum grip frame also. But not nearly as durable a finish as Ceracoat. What's not to like . I'de love to see some of the pinky finger blued guns after a week of Martin and otter trapping out of a skiff in Southeast Alaska in December.
Looks like a great gun to get kids into single action shooting. What's not to like. !!! I'de bet they will work perfect also. Kinda like the Ruger American rifle and the Savage Edge/Axis. Cheap to buy, shoots like a good dream.

Looks like a MIM hammer. Honestly, as long as it isn't a total pile of steaming feces, I kind of like it. I personally feel that the Single Six series is way overpriced for what it is. And at least the Wrangler isn't polymer - and it ain't as ugly as the LCR! But then again, not much else **is**. I'll buy one once I return to the States.

It's an alloy-framed Single-Six with MIM parts. For $200 or less at my LGS? Hell yes. Cerakote and all. Let's face it, on my budget even a used Single-Six is stretching things. Provided it turns out to be reasonable quality- and I can't really see it not being so- I will likely pick one up. Save some wear-and-tear on my vintage Frontier Scout.

I'm quite happy to see an option in this price range that lacks a manual safety.
