I have the Uberti Stallion Flattop and love it. The size of a Single Six, Six Shots and deadly accurate.

I have a set of CAS guns that I shoot 38 special through a pair of 357 Vaqueros with good accuracy, and a pair of 51 Navy’s in 38 Special... but never shot one of the single action S&W target guns

How about some wishful thinking, maybe Lipsey making a single six.

Gary Reeder is building me a five shot Single Six right now in 38 Super, 9mm and 38 Special. Will handle old 38-44 loads just fine.
Dave Clements also builds a 38 Special on the Single Six Frame.

I had a 6 shot custom built by David Clements twice it was so nice.
It wore a custom 5 shot cylinder and an octagonal barrel.
Sold it again in lieu of a blue 6 shot gun that is in the works now.
Perfect little package although if you're going to do it a .41 Special is soooosweet in a Single Six.

I'm still waiting on delivery of a custom single-six in .38 special from Jack Huntington...but I'm trying not to think about it

Hi...
I shoot .38Spl in my Cimarron Richards-Mason open top 1851 conversion.
Great fun...even with the miniscule sights.

We shoot a few, but a early 2nd gen 5.5” SAA is a favourite, and an absolute joy to handle, carry, and shoot.

I own a couple of dedicated 38 special guns and have a midframe flattop bisley at Bowen's that will come home as a 38 special. all of my 38s are large frame guns that can be loaded up to 38/44 levels. mostly though, mine get fed with lighter fare and turned loose on paper targets or plinking.

I bought this Uberti/Cimarron Open Top Navy .38 about two years ago or so: I kept very mild .38 Special handloads in it, and it was great fun to shoot. Out to ten or fifteen yards and with targets as big as bean cans, it was fun to shoot. But the rudimentary sights made precise shooting impossible for me. The rounded barrel stub deflected blast and flash forward away for the shooter, and kept the cylinder clean when firing lead bullets. Also only revolver I could clean the bore from the breech end. This old Colt Single Action Army is equally fun to shoot: With its better sights, it is also very accurate for more precise shooting. Actually a .357 Magnum, I confine it to mild .38 Special ammunition. Not quite as quaint looking as the open top, but much better at hitting what I'm aiming for. Bob Wright

I have a Cimarron Richards-Mason conversion in .38. Wonderful gun- especially after I improved the sights by enlarging the hammer-notch. Of course I couldn't just leave it alone, and it became my first real gunsmithing project... Still a great shooter out to 25 yards, and great fun!

I have a Smith & Wesson Model 10 custom revolver that was converted to single-action only. The gun was built in 1962 and has a custom slab sided barrel with integrated cylinder lockup. Then, it has a Bo-Mar style rib and sights layer on top. When you pull the trigger double-action, it rotates the cylinder but does not move the hammer. The guy has period correct Mershon grips (copy of Pachmayr) and shoots wadcutters into very small groups!
