Funny this topic has surfaced recently, as I've been thinking about it in terms of this 32 H&R Single Six I got back from Bobby Tyler a couple of months ago. He shortened the barrel and dovetailed a front sight. He also fit a USFA ERH with a serpintine slot, as well as a bisley hammer from Power Custom, and finished/CCH it.

Thought I would include this pic to represent black micarta. After checking out this thread, I'm feeling a set of highly figured wood grips are needed!
