Does anybody else look at a gun like this and wonder what other custom work was done that's been forgotten on re-sale? Lanyard loop is all you can see, but those grips look pretty nicely fitted and the BC gap isn't huge. Action work? Barrel setback? Or maybe a guy in his garage with a drill press installed the loop and that's the end of the story. www.collectorsfirearms.com/ruger-vaquero-44-mag-pr43602/

Yep. Could potentially be a bargain or a problem. Looks nicely done so maybe a bargain? Hard to tell.

Grip frame and mainframe look nicely fitted, too.

Alan Harton has been known to wander around at Collector’s. Just down the road from his home and shop. My 5 shot Harton built 45 Blackhawk came from Collector’s. It was listed as a Harton gun but not as a 5 shot. Normally Collector’s is fairly top end on price, but I got lucky that day. Tim

I did that very thing last week. I bought a Ruger Bisley that had a rounded butt. The cylinder had a Colt black powder chamfer, and the barrel has no markings. When I got it I checked the trigger pull and it seemed smooth and light. I need to take it to the range.

I saw that gun and wondered too.
I decided that somebody probably bought a lanyard ring from Hamilton and had it installed.
I'll pass...
