Very nice. It's begging for Persinger ivories.
Can anyone comment on the strength of the TLA in 45 Colt? The cylinder is quite a bit oversized in diameter and length compared to a large frame Rugged. For example, how does this TLA compare to a custom oversize cylinder 6 shot Ruger in 45?

PJ, I don't have an oversized 6 shot Ruger, but my 45 Colt TLA cylinder is 1.757" in diameter while a random NM factory 45 cylinder I had handy is 1.733". Length for the TLA is 1.818" minus the gas ring and ratchet, while the factory Ruger cylinder is 1.702" for the same dimension.
Roughly an extra 10-12 thousands of extra steel over the thinnest point, if the cut out for the cylinder stop is the same depth on both cylinders, and if the rest of the cylinder geometry is the same - distance from centerline to the centerline of the chambers.
Points to the TLA being at least as strong as the Ruger if the metallurgy is similar, and potentially stronger if the other dimensions are similar. Someone with a lot more knowledge than me would have to make that call. I generally don't shoot Ruger loads in the TLA - just the tier 2 stuff like the Ruger midframe and USFA call for. Less wear and tear on the gun and the shooter.

The TLA in .45 Colt is as strong as a Ruger, and probably stronger. Grover tended to cut his .45 chambers really tight, like a Linebaugh tight .45. I have shot Ruger only loads out of my .45 TLAs, but don't do it much. I'd much rather stress a Ruger out. They are easier to replace should something happen.

And, the TLA posted will likely go quite a bit higher. There are a couple big dogs in the bidding already.

I think that was well bought. 44 mag versions have sold for similar in the past, though some for less as well.
What's the plan for grips? Any chance you're in Texas and ivory is an option?
