I have a 6 1/2” SBH Bisley in 480 Ruger. Ive noticed that the extracted cases have a good bit of bullet lube on the case mouth. I have also notice some lube stuck to my target down range that usually between 25 and 50yds. Question is why is my bullet lube on the case mouth? The current bullet is a MP 477-640 over H110 or HS-6 both with mag primers. Is this a problem? If so how do you fix the issue.
I dont remember seeing this in my 480 SRH.

What kind of Lube is it? I couldn't say its a problem other cleaning the cases after.
I use the same Homemade lube for my pistol bullets as I do for my Sharps rifle and BP loads. Its Beeswax/Crisco/olive oil and fairly soft.
I was shooting last week and recovered some of my bullets from the snow and none had any lube left in the grooves. My 480 is the 4 5/8" model.

Mine is a home brew lube also.....I would have to look at my note to give you the amounts. Buts for the most part it has beeswax, paraffin wax, 2 stroke engine oil, and my daughter like to throw in a couple crayons for color, lol. Sounds like a simple recipe. Would you mind posting the amounts of each or PM me the amounts? Im assuming you dont have any accuracy issues with this lube? Ive heard some say accuracy can/will change with the lube. Thanks FTD

1 LB of beeswax 1 LB of Crisco and some olive oil to thin it out. It's been awhile since I made it but If memory serves I added the olive oil because the lube was pulling out of the lube grooves. I pan lube and when pushing the bullets out the lube would come out of the grooves.
I think its a pretty standard BP lube recipe.
Accuracy is fine and I don't have any leading issues.

I get the same thing but figured if I not getting leading and the lube is stopping the fouling from getting hard and burnt /cooked in the cylinder. You mileage may vary!

I switched to a NOE 375 FN and there was no lube on the end of the cases like with the 477-640. So Im thinkin its the bullet for some strange reason.
