Fabricator buddy has a handgun, and a rifle... Serious let down, factory cartridges are loaded too hot, very inconsistent

I have both rifle and 1911 Double Stack. No issues so far. Let me know if you need a few rounds to measure or experiment with. Huey

I'm ignorant about such things so can somebody tell me why this cartridge is "better or worse" than the 5.7x28?
The 5.7x28 was brought up by one of the custom smith's as an option in a revolver.

tell me why this cartridge is "better or worse" than the 5.7x28? It's easily reloadable............. The 5.7 supposedly has a plastic coating on the case which (according to the internet) makes it difficult.

FWIW in my old head the 5.7 is no more than a rimless K Hornet. Makes length a possible issue in the Single Six platform.

5-seven is fine in fixed breech gun, the semi auto blows the shoulder forward almost an 1/8"... That makes reloading challenging, and case life short... Laquir coating doesn't bother me one way or another... I got rid.of all my 5-seven, except fot my Contender barrel... I still reload for.it... The 22 TCM is much more practical, an can be made from commonly available brass, an the cartridges are shorter... Reloading is relatively easy... But replicating factory results in hot loads... My buddy jas had issues with both his handgun and rifle... But that isn't a concern with the revolver... I'd only question.maybe setback???

I"m thinking the shoulder on the 22 TCM would cause more problems with setback than the 5.7.
I for one don't care about making brass.... is the 5.7 brass available? I found some of the 22 TCM.

Used 5-7 brass is available for free, or at scrap price... Would you like a few to look over???

Either would be a good base for a 37 gr. 227640 Hornet cast bullet..........................

In a Single-Six wouldn't a .22-32 Freedom Arms be about optimal? The .327 parent case works fine in a Single-Seven but one would need a custom cylinder made for a Single-Six...
