Nice hog... I guess we're lucky we don't have them around here ( crop damage ) always thought that was a "down south" thing... but that's darn near straight east of us...
our old "domestic" boar went over 600 lbs when we quit using him... "Porky" yep, he had a name, & was nice as could be... so long as the sows weren't in heat... we had to have the vet in, to cut his tusks, a couple years before we quit using him... he had an interference with a couple upper teeth, that caused his tusks to sharpen themselves... I still have his tusks, & one side is sharp as a knife... so not only pointed sharp, but one edge is knife sharp... running into one that size unprepared in the woods could be a very bad situation...

Nice job James! I see you're still using those "three step bullets" need to send you some good "one step cast".......... Dick Dick, The recovered Swift lost 22.9grs... A friend sent me some custom .41 cal. JFP Hawk bullets weighing 235grs and I rolled some with a high cannalure for a agreed charge of 21.7grs of H-110. Did not clock them but after this boar was down I loaded one in the Freedom and shot in the shoulder area from about 10ft but did not recover. Have some .411" 215gr LSWC-HP bulets by GT that going to load for my 4" S&W M-57..

James, that Swift bullet looks like it did a fine job on that big tusker, don't know what more you could ask....except for maybe two less steps! So which do you want, some 212 gr GC HP's, some 250 gr HP's or some 250 gr WFN LBT's, your choice. The first one is a broadside bullet & he'll run 10 yds or so, the last two are shoulder bullets & you can walk up & pet him.

I walked up & petted this one with 1 bullet, a cast 230 gr Keith from my OM 41 magnum shorty at about 5 feet. The dogs had him bayed & he wasn't happy. See that white spot right behind his right ear, that's where the bullet went in & it came out the other side. Notice the knife in his mouth, I had used it on a hog a few days earlier. Knifing them is wild, they squeal pretty loud when you stick them. That's a pretty big hog, I weigh 280 lbs. I sold that OM to Axhandle & now I think Tyrone has it, sure wish I had it back, I killed a lot of game with that 41 shorty including 2 Javelina on this same hunt. Dick
