Nice stag grips. How do you like your Red Dot sight?

Thanks! The Fastfire is *ok* but as of last night it's wearing Williams Fire Sights.
My main issues with the FF are the small window and the auto-adjust brightness. The small window can be trained around (I actually mounted it on here as a training aid for presentation from low ready and dry fire) but the lack of manual adjustment for dot brightness can't. My range has a covered firing line and it's dim enough to keep the dot on full bright regardless of the light conditions at the target. Full on bright is almost like looking at one of those laser scanners at a cash register and enough to bother me after a couple of cylinders. I found the spot on the front of the sight where it uses the available light to determine dot brightness but the tape I put over it didn't last very long and I wasn't interested enough to try something more permanent.
I haven't decided what I'm going to do with it yet. I've got a couple of things it would be nice on but the brightness would still be an issue.
If I do another handgun mounted RDS the dot brightness will have to be manually adjustable. Actually that goes for any further RDS I buy regardless of application.

You’ve got the FastFire 2,...the Fast Fire3 has manual brightness. There are pluses and minuses for both, but I prefer the FF3. I also prefer the on/off feature of the Burris over others, “sleep mode”.......yeah the battery is supposed to last for 1000+ hours but when I grab it I want to know it’s not on its last hour!!!

I have a vortex venom. It has manual brightness setting, but the automatic shutoff only works in auto mode. I still set it at the lowest setting. It is about two years old, and am still on the first battery.
