Well, it's already time to apply to the NM lottery for big game hunts and it seemed like it was high time I posted results from last year. The elk and deer hunts were amazing and made for great stories but not so much for good photos. That's what it's about some years.... Last Fall I started a thread "Where's Waldo?" Here: singleactions.proboards.com/thread/23437/waldoHere's a pic through the spotting scope the week or so before the hunt. He was the "biggest" one spotted. Waldo.... Well my gal got Waldo..... He's super tall and narrow. These animals are absolutely the toughest to judge in the field. He's a really nice goat and she made a great shot in a 25mph wind with him quartering away from us at about 275yds with her 30-06 Blaser R93 and a 125gn Accubond at about 3225fps. This animal scored about 72". I would have bet big $$ he was all time book....not..... If you notice she can reach all the way around his horns. A shot us with the rancher's son. Now. Here's the one I shot. He is super thick and it makes his horns look so much shorter. His skull is a full 3" longer than her goat's head which makes him look small. This makes the judging of them on the hoof at shooting distances super tough. I would have told you he was a nice but average animal. He scores about 81". I shot his twin last year and they are two of the biggest I've killed. He was looking right at me at about 300yds with the same wind and I shot him low in his neck. The Barnes 110gn TTSX out of my .270 Win German handi rifle at 3450fps is devastating. There is no way to get my fingers to touch when I wrap my hand around the horns. These ara probably the worst pics ever of a big antelope. I know better....

Fun story and good pictures. Thank you. The best part of that hunt is the meat a guy gets to eat afterwards!!
