There is a very delicate balance that exists between bravery and fear... I really liked the way this picture turned out or me and my nephew, with our big Angus. I don't know if the picture really shows it, but this is an enormous animal! Thought you'll might like to see.

Good looking bull! I like the short legs on a bull and the ample belly. They don't waste any energy on long legs and have a good feed conversion plant! At his size I assume he is not a first calf heifer bull?

2500lbs?? Man, thats a lot of attitude! I may be wrong, as I have not weighed him. But we sold our biggest old cow this fall, and she was 1,800 &change....she was no-where near the size of this bull. Of the thousands of cattle that have passed through the ranch over the years. He is the biggest my dad or I have ever dealt with.

Bought a dayold pure Holsten bull calf. At 28 months he weighed in at 2100 and was huge. But was as gentle and easy going as a friendly kitten. Just grab his ear and lead him around.

We spent a week last May in Yellowstone. There were signs everywhere warning people about the dangers of bison. My wife and I were by one of the mudpits watching a male bison that was easily a ton. A bus full of Japanese tourists walked up the trail. A couple with a 5 or 6 year old child walked within 25 ft. of the beast and started taking pictures posing with it. Then the parents backed away to get their child in the pic alone. They were either ignorant or had no respect for the power of that wild animal.

I love that picture. It looks like a painting that I could hang over my couch.

I do too. Great picture.
A guy we've bought some cattle off of sold one of his bulls a couple years ago. I'm double checking what it weighed; but it was huge.

That Angus bull reportedly weighed 3,200 pounds on elevator scales. Brother who has gone to a lot of cattle auctions actually saw it and said it was biggest he'd ever seen.
The biggest I've personally seen was a Piedmontese bull in South Dakota. Don't know his weight; but he was long, tall, and wide.
Not that many cattle ever top the 2,000 pound mark. Those that do, like yours, are awesome beasts.

I had a purebred Simmental bull 20+ years ago went over 2800 as a long 3 yr old when I sold him. He was very long and wide, not terribly tall and was the most docile critter ever, could go out to the pasture at anytime and scratch him on the head. He often followed me around when I would work on fence etc looking for attention.

My grandpa bought a purebred Angus bull when I was a kid. Massive, insanely 'buff' & mean as hell. Grandpa got tired of dealing with him & decided it was easier to just rent a neighbor's Gelbvieh bull when the time came. No bad-attitude bull to deal with & higher birth weights with fewer young cows lost birthing.
