Should have mentioned it earlier, but that's a great looking rifle! Don't know that I've handled too many rifles that handle as well as a model 10. Actually had a chance to buy the 33 G&A model 76 that Ross is holding in that article. Talk about kicking yourself. I actually saw that listed for sale somewhere years ago...I want to say Bass Pro Shops??? Anyway, there was no way I could have come up with the money for that at the time although I certainly considered selling a kidney or two...

Congrats on a beautiful rifle, thats is sharp! I like it! I can easily see the appeal. Im feeling a slighty gravitational pull, lol Whats the LOP? It looks long The LOP is their standard 13 5/8" but it does look long in the picture. My only complaint, if you could call it that, is that I wish it had 2-3 more inches of barrel. It's short enough that another couple of inches would give it a little weight in the front and it would still be shorter than my average bolt gun.

I agree that they make those barrels too short, but...
In that rifle you will get better accuracy out of the shorter barrel.

Hahaha, I feel the same about the No.1s as far as barrel length. But you can also look at it this way....you have a normal length barrel compared to a bolt rifle but yet still have a nice compact rifle. I wish manufacturers would make rifles with a longer LOP! The typical standard of 13.5”-ish inches is too short. By the time I replace the pad with a thicker one it looks like I have put on a big thick rubber sole BOOT! Thats a fine rifle Ryan! How does that straighter looking grip feel? Thats got my curiosity up.

That's right, Bass pro had a few of Ross' guns and that one was one of them. He told me at the time that they were selling it for cheap, but it was still 5 or 6 grand 15 or more years ago

I was able to hunt with my new to me K3 a couple weekends ago, and in the blinds we predominantly use here in S.Texas and my little pop up bow blind the shortness is great, But the rifle begs to be carried afield or on a western hunt, and not relegated to sitting in a blind. The model 10, is a very nice rendition of a falling block and single shots always seem to bring up memories of good days gone past.

They're wonderful rifles. Honestly, I like my Blaser K-95 better but that's me. Be DAMNED sure you don't dry fire it! Don't know if you know this or not. I'm not a tellin' how I know this... "Hunting with one" I was aware of the "do not dry fire a Model 10" but only recently learned it when I was reading up on the rifle. Seems strange to me that a modern rifle shouldn't be dry fired.
K-95s are nice, too!

I've met a lot of "famous" people over the years and have often been disappointed afterwards. I'm not one for hero-worship but he's one guy I'd like to keep on his well-earned pedestal!

In fact, everything about the rifle feels "right" except I'd personally prefer the longer barrel that I mentioned earlier. And I prefer the thinner pad that this one carries as opposed to the 1" pads I normally see on them. It's 7 lbs, 2 oz with the scope but feels much lighter than that. I'm very pleased with it and hope to shoot it more this weekend...depending on what we see for weather.
