I'm not going to help much......... Having tried a little of everything, I've found that an Trijicon ACOG is about at the top of precise fastly acquired sighting arrangements (and is long range also)....... but it costs as much or more than the rifle. The green horse shoe reticle is top notch.

I like the Vortex Strike Eagle scope in either 1x-6x or 1x-8x. Illuminated reticle, but with the battery off, you still have a black reticle to use. When set on 1x, you can use it just as you would a red dot sight. Great optics and Vortex's forever, no questions asked warranty. Mount it in a Burris PEPR mount and you have what I consider to be the perfect AR sight....

I have one of these on an AR10, Cabela's had a package deal on this and FF3, so I bought one. 3X fixed magnification, green or red shooter's choice, but can see the reticle even if battery dead or not switched on. www.burrisoptics.com/sights/ar-sights-series/ar-332
