Well... my 1 in 14" twist 22 Magnum barrel blank arrived today... so this weekend I'll be boxing that, my Bisley centerfire Single Six revolver, & one of Fermins front sights up, along with 8 or 16 factory 22 Cooper Centerfire Cartridges... ready to head to John Powers shop ( among other things, John is making me an 8 shot cylinder )... Zane has agreed to make me a custom set of Bisley grip panels likely out of Rams horn, or some other lighter colored exotic material, when John finishes the cartridge conversion... really looking forward to this gun, & the 10mm Rimmed conversion that Dave Clements is working on for me this year... this year I'm doing more finish work & these 2 custom conversions rather than buying any new guns...

This picture is for Fermin, & anyone else wondering... a factory 22 CCM cartridge laying next to a standard 22 LR Single Six Cylinder... looks a little longer in the picture, but think it was just the same length as the cylinder from the inside of the rim, to the bullet tip on this bullet ( so it would only work with non recessed chambers ) BTW... I should have some extra barrel stock, as the one I ordered is 21" long, & I'm thinking 5.5" finished length on this revolver...

Bought 300 new 22 CCM cases today... These made from 22 Hornet cases, not Fiochi 22 Velo-dog cases... Wanting to see if there are any differences...

Might be a little over the top, but Master Powers has agreed to install one of Fermins King Replica sights, that I ended up with, on this project... should help a bit in the unique department... he'll radius the bottom of the sight to match the barrel, after he gets that turned down

decided to do a little work to my original 22 CCM revolver as well... took the rubber grips off this, & milled down the original front sight, added a dovetail base & a gold dot front sight insert... from this... to this... plan is to get this sighted & in a good protective holster, & start carrying it around the farm, & shooting it more, for dispatching varmints that are bugging me while I work

Just e-mailed Simply Rugged about a full flap holster sized to fit this... not sure if he uses heavier leather for the cannons, but I have one of these flap holsters for my Alaskans, & I love it... wondering if I could get a lighter cut of leather for this much lighter revolver???

22 CCM chamber reamer showed up the other day... was supposed to ship to John Powers... but will be heading that way today, along with that Kings replica sight from Fermin... little steps... now I should have a spec'd reamer, so maybe a Contender barrel could be in the future???

Was thinking about this Bisley Single Six... my last conversation with John, we talked about case coloring the frames, leaving the cylinder, trigger, & hammer blued... thinking about what grips would look best... right now I'm thinking about maybe a good birdseye or quilted maple???
what do you guys think looks best for grip panels on a case colored gun???
