17M2? The one I have was made by or perhaps for Kimber.

That is sweet! I too love multi conversions. My current project is I traded my OM S6 for a 45 Remington US Gov Prop model competition done and hard chromed. I’m TRYING to find a 9mm/38 super commander slide for a 41ae conversion! I love 41 action express my converted baby eagle is fantastic yo shoot. IMO the 40 S&w never needed to be made the 41ae was around way before and is a better cartridge , a true 41 cal auto like Skeeter & Elmers original 41 idea for a carry/defense round ie: 41 special instead the 41 mag came out oops There Elmer, lol. I mean if it had come to fruition, any 9mm auto be could become a much more powerful round with a simple barrel, spring, and mag change.
Others to be possibly added: .357 SIG .400 CorBon .40 Super 7.62x25
I like this list, my previous colt 70 series I ran 45 and 400 Corbon that is a fast snappy actually most snappy 1911 round I’ve shot to date. I could easily let 2-3 shots go at once bc my gun had the best trigger out of all the 1911s, mainly colts I’ve owned. Always wanted to do 7.62x25 but heard it’s a lot of work to get them to run in 1911s never tried so not sure but I think you need a 20mm frame due to OAL.

With the 7.62x25...all one has to do is shorten the factory round and recrimp with a Lee Factory Crimp Die... I have a die set and a FCD just have not purchased the conversion unit yet...
Although I am a .41 Revolver shooter I have never bothered with the .41 AE. Brass is hard to find and expensive when you do. There also are limited .41 bullets that will expand well at AE velocities...

I’ve got a guy I’ve bern talking to for years sells slot of 41ae stuff on GB he gets new virgin primed brass from the source in Israel. Very affordable, he has conversions for baby eagle/eaa/cz75/broening hi power/ and rarer ones like 1911 gov & commander. I use 170 Speer and 175 GB bullets in 41ae mainly. I need to get a commander slide argh can’t find one decent price slot of 45 ones but could prolly use 10mm/40 but 9mm/38 super be better. GOC had 1811 7.62x25 conversion kits for awhile don’t know if they still do. Jom

Since you said you would like the .22 slide to match the rest of the set up, why not just have it Ceracoated?

That would be a possibility but since I have two Kimbers anyway could just pick up a silver one and store the blue slide with the .38 Super STII....

...as an update...looked on GunBroker once in a while to see if there were any used silver .22 Conversions...and finally it paid off... Much less than retail, looked unfired and was right in the next town over...
