Was able to get out with my favorite SA hunting revolver, it’s been modified with LSCG Bighorn grips and a FO front sight from Sixshot. The sight is really a practical upgrade, as it is most useful in low failing light, the glow of the green FO rod was easily visible right thru legal hunting light. I was about to drop the hammer on a nice 9pt when he bolted and in trotted a boar, I quickly switched to my 500Max as I’d been wanting to try some 450gr Hawk JHP’s. The boar took the bullet in the right shoulder and it exited the left rear leg he covered 25-30 yards and expired. Total of about 3ft. of penetration and an excellent blood trail, it got too dark for pics back in the thorn brush. Overall I think it’s a good bullet for medium game and 500L or more power.
