Has Hamilton agreed to work on one? If he won't at least he'll still sell his dovetail front sight base for another smith to install. He has done work on USFA guns, Ashley Emerson's little 45 colt comes to mind. If he won't, Dustin Linebaugh will. I talked to him yesterday about another project and ran the basic concept by him.

Are these Colt SAA clones (dimensions, grips)?
Thanks,
Paul

Are these Colt SAA clones (dimensions, grips)? Thanks, Paul My understanding from their website- Very close. Mechanically they're pretty much identical to a Colt. Physically they're about the size of a Uberti, that is their cylinders are slightly larger in diameter and have thicker cylinder walls. Cholla

Boy am I behind times, I just saw this thread & manufacturer. I visited the web site & I'm going to follow this gun.
I wish them well. Could we have a new USFA?

On the ColtForum there is talk of them putting out the word they will soon be introducing a black powder framed 44 WCF. If that signals the beginning of more models and calibers they could indeed be stepping into the shoes of USFA. When talking about the late production, all USA parts guns by USFA those are big shoes to fill.
I'm rooting for them and when they offer the right model in the right caliber I will likely purchase one.

FAQs on their website answers my question and is what Cholla said abvoe.
20. Are the frames built at Colt Specs for size or the bigger Uberti frame size? They are slightly larger so they can accept a cylinder with a larger wall thickness. We do have a future generation of the gun that is machined. We are currently not selling it with the older style frame or black powder frame with smaller cylinders. We will be selling cylinders and screw sets for older colts.

Has Hamilton agreed to work on one? If he won't at least he'll still sell his dovetail front sight base for another smith to install. I got an email back from Mr. Bowen this morning. He said: "While we no longer catalog offerings for traditional single actions, I would be happy to undertake work on your Standard Manufacturing SAA as we have not seen one yet. Only real proviso is there isn't much we can do if the front sight comes in a bit short. You have to trust my eyes and hands on regulation and understand that nobody can really sight a gun for someone else with exactitude except by dumb, blind luck--this is why the invented adjustable sights. But, we can usually get pretty close, close enough for most anything one needs to do with such a gun." As soon as it hits my FFL from Bud's Guns, off it goes to Bowen then to Rob Rowen for new shoes.
