Well as some of you all know...i am trying to get my Ruger Flat Top Blackhawk 44 mag done and i was given for a very low cost a Uberti Cattleman brass grip frame...and i thought it had the Colt SAA size grip frame...but i am now told this may not be true...it is the 1860 army size grip not the colt 1853 Navy grip i thought it was...so my question is....does Uberti or Cimmaron or any of the others make a brass SAA colt size grip frame?.....the Colt 1853 Navy grip frame which i am told is the same as the Colt SAA grips?....any help will so be appreciated....i thought i had this all sorted looks like i was wrong...God Bless,John
thanks to Taffin i will revise this...what i need i think is the 1851/1861 size ....not the 1860 which is larger i think...

YES THEY DO. UBERTI THAT IS; CIMARRON IS NOT A MANUFACTURER BUT AN IMPORTER AND DISTRIBUTOR. IT IS 1851 NAVY NOT 1853 AND I WOULD TRADE A BRASS GRIP FRAME AND GRIPS FOR YOUR 1860 ARMY FRAME AND GRIPS ALTHOUGH I CAN'T UNDERSTAND WHY ANYONE WOULD RATHER HAVE THE 1851 THAN THE 1860.

well thank u for the response and the clarification......here is my dilemma...i have a very nice set of older Sambar stags from a Colt SAA that i want to use and i would really like to install a brass frame as well......just so i am clear...the Colt SAA grip is the same as what grip?...i was told the 1851 and the 1861 were the same...so that is also not true?...God Bless,John here is the grips i want to use.... and here is the style of frame i am going to use... this book cover is what really made me want one and then i see this one made me want it even more and here is what it is all going onto and here is what i am told i am getting...pics from the internet....

I AM THOROUGHLY CONFUSED! DO I UNDERSTAND YOU HAVE AN 1860 GRIP FRAME COMING? AND YOU WANT TO PUT A BRASS COLT-STYLE GRIP FRAME ON A RUGER? IF SO THAT WILL BE INVOLVED AND EXPENSIVE. THEY DON'T JUST BOLT ON WITH THE TWO PIECES TO REPLACE A ONE PIECE GRIP FRAME.

What size are your hands?
What strength 44 Magnum loads do you intend to fire?
If you have medium to large hands & want to shoot standard magnum loads, you might want to consider a larger grip-frame than the Colt Single Action Army sized grip.

Well as i wrote above....i want to keep these sambar grips show above....i am not going to be shooting 44mag....this gun is being built to shoot my favorite caliber 44 special....nice easy to shoot comfortable loads.... I prefer the original colt saa size grips....as some of u know my first new gun was in the early 80's a stainless ruger new model 4 5/8" 357 magnum which i shot hundreds possibly thousands of rounds too ..this gun will be reminiscent of that...that is why i am going with the short barrel and the grips are close to a set my Dad had on his Colt New Frontier 45 colr he had at the same time....

Have someone cerakote the xr3 gripframe in gold and be done with it. No brazing and no fitting the Italian parts.

Well if were to keep the original xr3 frame...i would just brass plate it....would look much closer...if i had a extra xr3 frame i would seriously consider that....brass plating would be the closest option and would look the best if i can not do the real brass frame....

A WTB ad on here or RF would get you one quick i think. Good luck with the project. I've definitely thought about fitting the brass Italian parts to a ruger before but repositioning that one screw hole up in front of the trigger guard keeps me from trying it.
