The cool thing about the 10 is it will shoot 40 S&W also. Which makes for some cheap and mild , and also more available practice ammo. Excellent pics. Thanks !

I like the .44, is the 10mm really a step up on the .357 mag? Just curious because I don't know.

The 10 , when run at full pressure beats the 357 by a bit. Mainly with heavy boolits. Not as much as the 41 mag. But, it is more powerful than the 357.

Groo here The 10mm with middle to top loads is about where many people load the 41 mag, hot 44 spec, lighter 44mag to. The 10mm matches the 357 with equal weights but has the advantage of greater size and able to shoot heaver bullets. Plus ,being shorter ,fitting a 45acp pistol, and the same size revolver[or even smaller,, see GP100 10mm]

Groo here Just got in my Ruger moon clips for the GP100... They are marked 9mm/10mm. With the slots cut in them , they make great range clips-- easy to load and unload with out tools........ They are however very thin, [might be way problems with 40S&W].. My other order was from Ranch products , heaver stiffer, thicker. A good carry clip. Will try with 40 when next to range. Ps. Ranch Products will be sending 2 shell 1/3 moon clips soon... Will shoot and advise. PPs, The factory clips are .032 inches , Ranch clips are .036 inch [may shoot 40 in many guns] the TK clips for 40 are .040 [should work on all]

Groo here From what I can find [and my googlefu is strong] about 50 to 100 fps slower depending on loads.. I was quite suprised...

That's still very usable ! It would be pretty handy to have a 10 in a revolver.

Does Ruger or some other vendor sell lots of moon clips ? Thank you very much for the answers ! I got mine from Ranch Products [50 to 100 at a time] the full moon clip is for the Ruger Security Six built for the French in 9mm. The specs for the extractor groove and case spacing for the 9mm and the 10mm/40S&W are the same... Ranch is also going to make a run of the 2 shell 1/3 moon clip[like they make for the 45acp] that will fit a classic 2x2x2 pouch , a drop pouch, belt loops or be flat in a pocket...

Congrats! Those are mighty tempting. I am very fond of my 3" .44 spl but the 10mm seems a perfect fit for that revolver. (opps should have refreshed the thread before I posted) I will be curious so see how your accuracy and reliability is with .40 s&W in the moon clips (suffice to say practice .40 is plentiful down here).

Groo here Small update ... Shot about 100 through it now. All 10mm. Remington 180fmj are about 40 S&W specs , about a 38+p or a little more. A local load , 165gr at 1350 fps [from 5 in 1911] a little hot or cases or very used as one split... A custom load made fore me by Kudu Custom from Alaskia [ sold out to another now. 180gr at 1275fps new starline brass. No problems kick like top 357 hunting loads loads , and inside at 7yds [winter you know] two hand unsupported, 6 shots touching. The WC seems to like the hotter and or heaver loadings.....

Groo here Like most Ruger's , the sight is larger and easy to see.. I like the Novak style sight, and with a dovetail front sight and semi-adj rear you can set the gun to your eyes. This sight is much better than the 357 3in fixed sight, but still strong...
