...of Benelli imported Uberti Cattleman.... A large local gun shop just got in a ton of show samples...all were unfired, LNIB with a card stating that they had the full factory warranty....for very good prices... So wanting to do a fixed sight 4.75" .41 Special project, I called Jack Huntington to see if this was a suitable candidate for a conversion...he said it was... So I bought a .357 Magnum to be rebored/rechambered and a .22 "just because" I like rimfire understudies and it was just too cheap to pass up...like $200 below the GunBroker price, and no sales tax, shipping charges or passthrough expense... The .22.... The .357...a little fancier grips... So the .357 will be going down to Nevada in a week or so..... Bob

As I've posted several times recently, the most underrated buy in firearms today.
My opinion is they simply smoke Colt quality. I can't say it's been that way forever, but certainly true today.
Congrats and I hope you keep us updated on that Huntington project.

Great project! That front sight looks very useable. I'm a fan of the Uberti SAs. I've often thought a stainless Uberti 41 would be pretty cool. 7.5" barrel, adjustable front sight like yours. Thanks for sharing.

Shot the.41 this morning...shot very well and was happy with the sight picture, more than I thought I was going to be...
The 250 bullets are impacting 13" low at 50' and the 215s 14.5". Going to see my smith Monday to have the sight trimmed and install the front sight on the .22....

Dropped the pair off yesterday with a smith I use to have the front sight on the .41 cut down and the one on the .22 installed... Will be two weeks before I can pick them up as I'll be out of state next week...

An interesting thing that I noticed about the .22...it has offset-angled chambers. Instead of being bored straight from front to back, the rear of the chamber is bored outboard a few hundredth so that the primer of the rimfire round is right where the primer for the centerfire round would be....but the front of the chamber is perfectly aligned with the center of bore...
By doing this Uberti doesn't have to have two different frames for rimfire and centerfire...

Good pick for caliber on the 41spl.. you'll enjoy it! I've found 6.5Unique goes with justabout any bullet you put it under and shoots them all with accuracy. Velocities on that 6.5gr charge generally hover around 900fps.
My own everyday trail & pasture load though has become a 255gr wfn that has a fairly short shank, designed by NOE, on top of 7.3gr Unique... that charge & bullet makes me 970fps out of a 4,3/4" Colt and I consider it a mirror loading (in 41) to what Skeeters famous 44spl load was.. excellent, accurate, mid-power all arounder handload
Enjoy your new sixgun !
