It's been a long road for this little I-Frame. Officially it's a S&W Model 1903 .32 Hand Ejector (5th Change.) I picked it up at Pinto's for $125, and it was in miserable shape; timing problem, bore looked like hell, massive cylinder gap and end-shake, almost none of the original finish remained, some tool marks and pitting... Some of this gun's journey has been reported here previously, so if it looks familiar that would be why. I've learned a hell of a lot along the way! Now the gun times correctly, locks up tight, no end-shake and the cylinder gap is .006". The stock grips (the only really decent part of the gun) have been replaced with a pre-war style target grip modeled after the ones S&W used to put on these and kit-guns. Finally the gun was stripped, all the interior parts given a thorough and detailed cleaning and the frame, crane, cylinder and side-plate were finished with rust-blue. I made no attempt to disguise that this is a re-finish; there are still the odd tool-marks and a bit of pitting here and there. The gun looks great is a real shooter! The DA pull is merely OK, but the single-action is excellent. I am immensely pleased with how this gun came out... but a little sad that it's finally done. Anyway, what was once a piece of junk is now ready for it's second century of shooting!

Looks good, love to see a target from that probably old "service revolver". 32 Long, correct?

Figure the guys that put their knowledge and sweat into that years ago are smiling down about now. Nice.

Once a Smith, always a Smith. The ole girl looks like a good shooter and I don't think I could do any better with that firearm. Never shot a 32 anything, 32s were breathing their last as police revolvers as I was entering into the Police world in 1965. Saw a few K-32s but never saw a 32 in duty holster. Starting to get a 32 itch. Probably in a J frame.
