I was able to fill my first mule deer gun tag this last weekend. Was with a good friend. Spotted this deer the night before after passing up a large mature 3x3 that would have also been a good handgun deer. Was able to get within about 200 and got held up by some bedded does for about an hour and a half. When they decided to finally get up and feed I was able to close to about 75. Feel very blessed to have had the opportunity!

Wow thats a nice one. One definitely to be proud of. Now for the skinny details...... What gun? What bullet? What load?
And, can you tell us about the striped barrel?

You must be referring to the freedom blaster! It’s my 500 JRH loaded with the corder 410 from accurate molds. A Remington 2 1/2 and 26 grains of wc820. The tape was just laying on my buddy’s table when I got to his place on Thursday night and it seemed like the right decision at the time! We will see how long it stays on. I suppose it’s no less sneaky than the shiny barrel was before

That's a great deer with any gun, much less a revolver. Did you do the wood grips on the BFR Bisley?

LazyTcross, you may just have started something. Haha. That could be its own picture thread! Yes I did the grips. Did a little action work and shortened the barrel to 5” it was one of the crooked sight guns as mentioned in other forums

I figured he was celebrating Brexit procedures, or he was of Norwegian descent, or lost a bet!!!
Nice muley though, are the does and bucks hanging together due to the rut?? My muley hunts are always early so don’t see them hanging out together.

The rut is just kinda starting. They are with some does but are not running around like idiots just yet.
I am of Norwegian decent! But mostly I am a big fan of candy canes and am thinking of opening a barber shop!

Great 5x5 mulie! Handgun hunting is SO addicting it isn't even funny. Hopefully this weekend I get to sneak out for a bit and try to find a blacktail buck or doe to get with one of my handguns.
