I just ordered a new 2.75 69. Should be here on Tuesday, it’s been coming for a while but I only made it official last Thursday.
Sure been excited about the 69s for some time. I know Paul105 likes his. And 450ak has been after me for a while to try one.
I did order a set of laser grips for it. Think that it would make it ideal for vermin by the chicken coop and ditch cridders.
Just wanting to find out how everyone is carrying their 69s/ snubby revolvers.
I was thinking of building a simply rugged type pancake, but my mind could be changed!

I have been carrying mine in a Mernickle crossdraw. One of my most carried while in the woods.

Why just build one holster. I build several for my fav handguns. Great score btw. I think a 2 3/4" model 69 would be a Great packin gun.

Have the 69 4.2" and it has become my favorite 44. Look at a Combat Master Galco rig. I carry a 2.5" 19 in mine and I originally bought it for a 396 Smith. Love the Galco rig makes the L Frame seem very small.

I have a Galco DAO for my 4 inch 69, and a Bianchi 111 for the 2 3/4 inch.

I have a couple of older Simply Rugged Sourdough Pancakes that fit just about anything I stuff in them. I call them my universal holsters. Been carrying something in them for well over a decade. They can be carried strong side or cross draw and are very secure and comfortable. I usually carry my 4 1/4" M69 in one of these.
When bow hunting elk, I carry my 4" 329 in a Bianchi 111 Cyclone (in the cross draw position). It can also be worn strong side or cross draw and has a thumb break. It is light weight, comfortable and has a minimal profile (this would be my recommendation for the 2 3/4" M69 If I were buying a new holster).
With all that said, I don't get out for extended periods with the 2 3/4" M69, so I just drop it in the back pocket of my Carhart's. Works just fine for an hour or two of casual walking/hiking. If I was engaged in strenuous activity or just an extended period of carry, the Bianchi 111 would be my choice.
FWIW,
Paul

Sounds great. I was thinking that the simply rugged was the route I would go. The only downfall I have ever found with them was reholstering. But they do pack well

Back pockets of Carharts is hard to beat. My Talo 44mag 3 3/4" and GP 100 3" all fit the same pocket very nice. And also if some punk wants your wallet and you pull it out for him his eyes get big and blurry

I like to mow the grass, do yard work with my Bulldog in my Carhart shorts back pocket. I tend to live in them from May until snow. On my belt in some non-descript open bottomed slide holster meant for something else. My 4.2" M69 will someday get a kydex chest holster for field protection duty, fishing and such. It oddly fits in a from Ruger holster that I got for the Vaq Sheriff NM 44spec..

I have a kydex chest setup coming from a friend. It should be here on Friday. I think it will have a great many applications, but don’t believe that it will be the end all. I do a fair amount of duck hunting and trapping in chest waders, and I think it would be Perfect for that.
Anybody shoot the short 69 with factory grips? The round butt? Or is most everyone using the X frame chushy grips

I've shot a little over 900 rounds thru my No. 2 2 3/4" M69 with the factory round butt grips. Only 50 or so were .44 special level loads. I prefer the S&W 500 X Frames but the factory grips are doable. Was testing the Miss Bullet Co 300gr Hammer, deep seated over 20.0gr of WW296, for potential accuracy. Only about 4 inches rested at 25 yds, so I shot the rest offhand double action -- 10 at 7 yds as fast as I could acquire the front sight on the bottom of the diamond and 10 at 12 yds a bit more deliberate. This was with the factory round butt grips. Jerry Miculek I'm not and "fast" is a relative term LOL. Had this gun (same as above) out yesterday shooting mostly double action - plate rack at about 28 yds and a couple of poppers at 70 yds. These little guns continue to impress favorably. FWIW, Paul

Well I would sure hate to be the bear that you were piling those into!
I loaded up some no9 with the arsenal 429421 tonight. With 2.5s and 350s. Will hopefully be getting the gun tomorrow, things kinda fell apart today.
Was hoping to be able to handle recoil (with rb grip) in about the 11-1150 range. I guess I will know more tomorrow

Well, LazyTcross asked how to carry ? So no highjack. Could you send a pic of the back side of the holster though ? We be making it. Oh, I've stayed with the factory grips due to hand size and like them but tend to shoot lighter loads than Paul. Smaller bears..LOL.

It’s all based in a guys bear size. Some are in salmon streams. Some raid garbage cans.
I would be interested in seeing pictures all around on the holster you just showed off Paul. The leather one.
I am cheap (and shoot LH) therefore I build my own holsters.
