Nice! I have it's identical twin (with walnut instead of ivory though). Plain 5.5 inch barreled 500 linebaugh, blue, number 116. Unfortunately I'm no help since it didn't come with paperwork.

I agree with the theory that each gun model has its own set of numbers. My 500 is number 19, but it is built on a Super Blackhawk, and retains the dragoon grip frame. I'm sure John didn't do many like that. It was finished in 2005 or 2006.

Thanks Frankenfab for the compliments and I will post once I speak to John L. and clarify the year he did the conversion work.
I would be very interested in load data you have used all the way up the scale from mild to hunting only loads.
Thanks!

Bob, and all,
I was so obsessed over being careful with my Linebaugh that I only shot one load, for a long time. I bought the Ballisticast mold that the Cast Performance 440 WFN was made from , and loaded over 28.0 grains H110. I was buying and using loads of WC820 at the time, but I didn't dare use it in my Linebaugh .
I branched out a little bit, and had a Mountain Molds 435 Keith mold made, loaded with the same charge, and I just tried 2400 for the first time.

Thanks Frank for your post back to my own.
I spoke with John Linebaugh yesterday and he will be phoning me with the exact date he converted the pistol I now own (#67). I also asked about loads he suggested and used. Here are his comments summarized:
*Standard Primers always - otherwise pressures can spike unnecessarily *Hornady Dies and Starline cases *Gas checked bullets always ***Per John the following are loads he trusts and recommends*** 1. 440gr. or 450gr. Bullet with 29gr. H110 - yields @ 1200fps 2. 410gr. Bullet with 31 gr. H110 3. 410gr. Bullet with 12.5 gr. Trailboss - yields @ 960fps. (compresses powder slightly in case) - John offered up that the Trailboss load with 410gr. bullet has fully penetrated and exited a Buffalo. - Additionally, he offered that the loads he suggested are not the fastest loads possible, but that moving higher will hurt and was not necessary for the performance intended.

Rancher Bob:
Beautiful Bisley model single action in .500 Linebaugh!
The finish and bluing is perfect!
The grips are outstanding!
Thank you for the photos.
