I had a little time today to shoot a couple of my 45 Colts. One is my brass Bisley by John Powers and the other is a Small Build 45 by John Linebaugh. They both shoot better than I do and it was fun. The Linebaugh has a Trijicon RMR sight to help my old eyes.

Couple of fine looking shooters you have there, how did they shoot? Loads, distance, etc.

I was burning through a few boxes of well traveled HSM factory lead cowboy loads that I’ve been carrying around in the travel trailer for awhile. I also shot some Remington 230 grain factory JHP loads. Both shot about 2” at 25 yards indoors with rested elbows. The lighting wasn’t great inside. The .100 front sight on the brass Bisley allowed for a pretty good sight picture in the low light. For my bad eyes, a skinny front sight helps.

You have very good taste in revolvers! I'm wiping the drool off the counter as I type this.

I'm hoping to take the FA 41 mag and the Harton 414SM the next trip in a day or two.

You may as well bring that 414 next time you are in the area. I may be able to take that heavy thing off your hands without too much arm twisting.
And Im having regrets about that 22. Im sure she is missing me as well.

I'm with you on the 1/10" front sight, that's what I've been doing for 45 years & its a great way to go.

Joe, that 414 is a very flat shooting revolver... I almost typed "i dont think you have any trade fodder to interest me" and then I remembered you have one or two of everything.
Dick, that 1/10" sight may not work for eagle eyes but it gives me good light on both sides to even up. I even had Fermin make me a .085 sight for a 4 5/8" single six 32.

That is a 4x Leupold. It’s a great scope on a flat shooting revolver like the 414 SM. Target acquisition and field of view suffer compared to a 2x but it allows for very precise aiming. I plan on doing some hunting with it this year. I also use 2x Leupolds and Fastfire or RMR reddots on my hunting revolvers They all have a place and a purpose.
