I have a past issue of Handloader magazine with a Brian Pearce article on 32 H&R Mag loads somewhere. That's where I got the load with the 100 grain XTP over 11.8 grains W296. That load will shoot all day in a Ruger Single Six and is what I carry in my S&W 431PD.
Practice and plinking loads are the Meister 94 grain RNFP over 3.5 grains W231.
I do have the Mjolner MiHec mold that throws a 126 grain large HP that I need to break out and get hot here soon. But that's more for my Single 7 in 327 Federal.
I am satisfied with the 32 Mag in my 431 PD. I mean, it's a 2nd backup or pocket carry gun for me, not a primary carry piece. It's super light and I put it in a DeSantis Superfly pocket holster and forget that it's there. As mentioned, it's something like 13 ounces, so very light.

The newest issue of Handloader's Pet Loads article is on the .32 H & R Mag. It had some notes about the J frames, and to be honest I skimmed that part because it doesn't apply to me. Have to re-read the article, but regardless, there is a lot of good information about the .32 H & R Mag in the article.

I know of exactly 1 S&W 432 that was reamed out to 327. The guy ran a few 327's through it just fine but, like you, is very concerned about the aluminum frame and shoots 32 mag in it to practice and carries 327 for self defense. I have a 431PD and I decided not to do it. I run cast bullets at modest speed for plinking and carry "warm" 32 HRM loads for SD, a 100 grain XTP over 11.6 - 11.8 grains W296. Even then, I worry about the aluminum frame... I mean, just my luck, it would decide to break in the middle of a fire fight! Old thread, but I'm farther down the line now with some range trips under my belt. I too concluded 32 H&R will be plenty! I also am gearing up my reload kit for this cartridge. I have a 100 grain bullet selected like you, and will use H110 to load it, like you (kinda). What I want though is a single load. This is going to be a one-load gun, for all purposes. You mention you use 11.6 grains 296 and do not consider it a load the gun will take every day, all day. My question is, what do you think for an every day load? I have quickload open right now, and for an XTP and 11.6 of 296 at OAL 1.35", predicted pressure is 28ksi. Pretty warm! 11.0 is 23ksi, 10.6 is 21ksi. None of these loads are low enough to put lots of empty space in the case (squibb danger). Does this sound about right to you? What would YOU speculate for a load to give the gun for a hundred rounds a month, give or take, without worry to the frame? If you are worried about 11.6, would you worry about 11.0? ever try it?

I have loaded 9.5gn and 10.0gn of H110 with the 100gn xtp. Both had good accuracy. I didn’t do any extensive testing because soon after I got a single seven, and my .32hrm single six became my reloadable .22. Both loads gave enough case capacity. I didn’t have any problems.
