This gun is on it's way to me now. It started life as an OM 44 with an unsightly, unfitted brass Bisley frame. Robb Barnes (Kings6) pointed it out to me on GB as a diamond in the rough. I added the Bowen sight, the Clements hammer and the Turkish walnut. John Powers put it all together and came up with this package. It took about 8 months and the gunsmithing cost less than the price of the original 44. During the 8 months John moved from Texas to Louisiana so that slowed it down a bit. I'll get better pics when it arrives on Tuesday. Curtis

Looks fantastic Curtis, those grips look like they came from the same slab as the blanks you sent me. One day I will find a brass grip frame, they have really grown on me in the last couple years.

I have a brass Ruger manufactured SBH grip frame for a similar future project. The box for the grip frame is marked $19.95 by Ruger.

The Ruger collector in me jumped a little when I read the title. I was wondering; "Did someone modify a factory brass g/f or buy an aftermarket one?" And when I opened the post,, I see a very nice, elegant custom,,, where an obvious aftermarket brass g/f was used,, AND an old 44 mag was the donor gun. SWEET looking & I'm guessing it shoots great!
I collect the factory brass g/f guns,,, even though I only have a handful. And I like to find the original g/f's in their boxes etc. Factory built Ruger brassies (verifiable) can command premiums,, so this one is a truly nice & usable gun!
