In the movie Joe Kidd, Eastwood shoots Duvall as Duvall is holding a HIGHLY dressed up 99, gold wire and all it appears. The thing hits the floor with a rattle, I can't stand it. Every time I watch it, over and over, can't stand it. Someone here years ago posted a link to a website that named all the guns in a movie, anyone remember that? Maybe imfdb.org? Actually discovered the site earlier this week searching for something utterly non-firearms related for Streets of Fire. Go figure. Here's their entry for Joe Kidd: www.imfdb.org/wiki/Joe_Kidd

I sure don’t know the values on them, but I have 2. One standard rifle, and the other is a take-down, both in .303 Sav. These are very well built rifles, slender, elegant feeling when handling, they seem to have very good pointing characteristics when shouldering . They have been put away for years, would love to revisit them again and this time go exclusively cast.

This seems to be a good place to mention I have 4 boxes of fired brass of 303 Savage here. PM if interested.

I'll be around my BlueBook of gun values later this evening. I'll take a couple pictures of the 99 prices and post them here, maybe that'll assist in research a little, though it's only a baseline of what someone might pay for a rarer model/grade.

Can't speak to collector prices. For whatever it's worth, we were eyeballing them at gun shows last year looking for a Christmas present for my Father In Law. His first center fire hunting rifle was a 99 in 300 Savage and he'd been wanting another for awhile. Gun shows prices for shooter grade 99's were running anywhere from $600 to $1200 with most around $800-ish. Prices varying on condition, cartridge, and features. Went to a gun show yesterday and looks like the prices on the 99's are down from last year - $550 to $800 with most around $650. Not sure if this is the market moving or just that this was a smaller show with a lot of local private sellers. Could be the market though. Noticed at last gun show and this: seeing lower prices, less tacticool, and more older stuff coming out for sell.
