I came home from an appointment this morning and found that this had arrived! Linda bought it off of Gunbroker from a no reserve auction for a fraction of the price on the tag! It's a Webley Model 83 Royal Irish Constabulary in .450 Adams. The lock-up would do credit to a new gun, and the trigger is smooth, smooth smooth. Sights are quite good for a gun of it's era. the bores and chambers are, if not pristine, at least quite good. The one-piece Walnut grip fits my hand like it was made for me. I love my British Lion bulldog, but I adore this Webley!

Love it. I'm a sucker for a pocket revolver and for old school stuff. That has it all sir. Good score. I'm green with envy. John

I think I see a D↑D on the side. Military ? Dept. of Defense ? English , Australian , New Zealand ?

If I remember my story correctly, George A. Custer carried a Webley RIC when he was killed.
Mobjack At least that was the story I was told.

Those .450 Adams look too short and too fat. Those are some strange looking dimensions.
I love it !

Pretty good shooter- this is only five yards, of course. Fired double action fairly quickly.

Warhawk asked for details, so.................. The gun is a Ruger Blackhawk, 4 5/8" .45 Colt/.45ACP, fitted with Super Blackhawk grip frame and casehardened by DougTurnbull. Grips are Bolivian rosewood by Lett, rear sight by Gary Reeder, all steel. The cartridge, that I call the .45 Xtra Short, are .45 Colt cases cut to .45 ACP length. They are loaded with ACP dies and .45 Colt shell holder. They can be fired in either the .45 Colt cylinder or the .45 ACP cylinder. As yet I have made no comparison between firing in both cylinders. This was a moderate plinking load, and sort of a "what if" project so I'm not expecting great accuracy. Bob Wright
