Good luck with the tests. I vote Hamot the hospital with the best view/cafeteria. Am way too familiar with Erie hospitals. Dad spent his last days at the VA, Mom at St Vincent. Most of the aunts and uncles and grand parent at those two and Hamot. Been to couple of the nursing facilities too. Sigh. Was to be in Erie Sat for shopping and lunch, hear we got drafted to help with a garage/yard/moving sale. Good news is am likely to come home with a bunch of reloading supplies.

Oh, bit of a highjack at this point but, .. When Hamot expanded and the parking garage built, it wiped out the west end of the old Polish/Russian 'hood. My Dad grew up just a half mile to the east just above the tracks, a few houses from the old soldiers/sailors home. Just bit beyond where the USS Niagara is anchored. There is a good restaurant at the foot of the the dock at the bottom of State St. pull right on out and park at or near the dock. Can walk to the light house and ride to top for view of Presque Ilse. Good perch sandwhich.

Nothing in Erie. Buffalo has a Cabelas. Also in Buffalo is The Gun Center. I guess that's my favorite.

The ORIGINAL Primanti's, on the strip, was the best. Didn't open till MIDNIGHT, best food, but then again any food after an all nighter is pretty good.Waitress yelled the order back to the kitchen, she would bring your order out, you ate, if you were done and not movin' out the waitress will come yell at you to "get the #@!% moving there are other people waitin' to sit down" It was always full, people waitin' at the bar or outside......but, yet again, that was in the 70's. Ate at the one at Grove City Pa. and was not impressed at all.

Coogs, was it the food or it had no character? Some of my favorite restaurants are the dive places. Lotsa ambience in those haunts.
