Use it! I went riding my mule in the mountains today and there was a Bowen tweaked ivory gripped USFA Double Eagle in the TLA holster on my belt the whole time! Crossed the river twice, climbed a mountain through new logging slash and it was there the entire time. Is that the leather I sent up there Rob? If so I’m glad it’s getting some work!! :-)

Not this time Fermin, it was an original TLA holster.

I don't generally look for tough jobs to do with any of my fancy guns... but the OP's gun being stainless should be carryable... & I'd be looking for fancy places ( BBQ's ) to carry that beauty & get her out once in a while didn't really see the holster... but a gun that nice is worthy of a BBQ quality shuck

Holster for it is a Tex Shoemaker SA 28 Black Basketweave. I will post a pic later today but the Shoemaker holster is a remake of their old Uniform rig that had the outside fingerbreak. Wore one of these back about 1981 when I packed a 29-2 4" as a Deputy Sheriff. Waiting for weather to break so outside becomes doable for more than a half hour. Snow again this morning.

Use it as it was meant to be used.I have an engraved Black Hawk and my fervent hope is to live long enough, and to shoot it enough to wear the engraving off of it.It is my always wear, [cross draw]wandering, woods bumming, hunting gun. .45 COLT of course!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Very sharp. I appreciate all engraving, but am especially fond of the which is tastefully applied and adds just the right amount of flair. That one would fit right in with your Sunday best collecting the offering, as your "BBQ" gun, or worn at a black tie event.
Respect it, Use it, and don't be disappointed if it shows honest mileage. It will only add to it's charm.

Thanks to all you who have commented. This one goes to my son when these old hands are done with it. Gonna start looking for a BBQ.

I have a couple of box stock 624's (a 4" and a 6.5") as well as a couple of Ruger Flattop .44 Specials (SS 4 5/8" and a blued 5.5") and consider them not only fine range revolvers, but also superb in the field. I confess that my most used field load is the "Skeeter load" (7.5 grs. of Unique behind the Mihec version of the H&G #503 Keith 250 gr. SWC). However, I am also fond of the Group Buy (Lee) 200 gr. Dbl. ended W/C) ahead of 5.0 grs. of Red Dot for 900 fps. or 4.0 grs. for a light target load). Mine are not fancy but they sure do shoot well. Good revolvers and loads, all. Ezekial38: It is obvious that you have excellent taste in revolvers! Dale53
