The FG model has a pistol grip and checkering.

Congratulations for such an excellent find....in the last ten years I have seen only one 1894 .41 sell for under a grand...most are up in the $1200-1400 area. That said prices have come down from the $1500+ they were getting for them since Henry introduced several of their models in .41... Freedoam Group just doesn't have a clue...they could be making money with .41s and .327s and just don't bother...
Marlin made four different 1894s in .41: 1894S...straight stock, rubber butt pad, no checking, 20" round barrel barrel
1894CCL....straight stock, plastic butt plate, no checking, 20" octagon barrel with buckhorn sights...1000 made
1894LTD...straight laminated black/gray stock with rubber butt pad, no checking, 16.5" barrel in stainless steel...only 251 made. They will usually bring over $2K when they come up for sale, which is rarely.
1894FG...same as the S but with with a checkered pistol grip stock.
