It is a sincere pleasure of a pistol to shoot. It boasts as one of my most accurate handguns. Still, I have to echo Otony on this; it is not one that I'd have as a saddle companion for its noise level. Congratulations on the great find. You stinker! I didn’t know you had a 30 Carbine Ruger! I have had a number of them over the years but was far more wound up about the really big bores. Sadly they all went to wiser sixgunners than I... I have however llately ocated a 30 Carbine cylinder and barrel and upon locating a suitable donor I’ll be building a special sixgun around my parts...

Sorry brother, but you did know I had a .30 carbine. You've even given me some advice on it. Take a look. singleactions.proboards.com/thread/19838/blackhawk-30-carbine-conversion

Sorry brother, but you did know I had a .30 carbine. You've even given me some advice on it. Take a look. singleactions.proboards.com/thread/19838/blackhawk-30-carbine-conversionThat certainly speaks to the frailty of my memory! Since that time, I have had the opportunity to work on a couple of 30 Carbine Ruger cylinders that displayed sticky extraction. I tried 2 different fixes and both of them worked. More, on examining them closer, I found them to be oversize in the throats. But we already know we just need to shoot the correct size bullet there dont we. So, I guess I better take a look at that cylinder when we get a minute. As to the forcing cone I am pretty sure it could be cleaned up on a lathe but again, I would have to see it. We can chat about it soon.
