A great deal. Very much like my JRH 480 and I promise I have much more invested than he's asking.

Nope, she's a 6-shot. Prolly still a pretty fair price.

The whole 5 or 6 makes me laugh at most levels.

It’s an oversized six shot custom cylinder. That kind of 6 shooter shouldn’t cause anyone to rethiink. My guess is that you can’t hurt it.

If I had seen this the day I started to have my Bowen made I would have bought this and never looked back!

The whole 5 or 6 makes me laugh at most levels. The biggest deal when I look at them regarding 5/6 shot is whether it is a refit/bored factory cylinder or a custom cylinder. In this case and on some of the ones' I've had built they are custom 6 shots but typically if the cylinder is custom they're 5.

That cylinder is long and encloses the case heads. The barrel only slightly intrudes into the frame window. It’s done right.

I don't see the logic in spending the money to have a gun built with features like a banded barrel and oversized fitted cylinders and leaving the stock rear sight. I guess some folks are not aware of a sight like Bowen's or a new rear sight is not part of the package that the builder offers. It just seems like there are a lot of nice guns with upgraded features that still wear the factory rear sight.
NOTE TO SELF - put the Bowen sight in the parts box on the avatar gun you idiot! Yep, there is a plank in my eye!

I've been looking at it all morning trying to find a need for it and deciding what I'd sell to bring it home.
FA style front sight blades for those of us that don't like ramp sights, walnut that I bet will look better in person, and a build done right all around.
Bowen rear sight, new front sight, and hit the range for under $2k.
Or I have a Trijicon RMR sitting in a box and the right adaptor for it, already paid for.
Life is just a series of impossible decisions.

Ad claims it is one of JRH’s personal guns, so maybe he likes what looks to be a modified factory sight over Bowen’s. But personally I agree—a custom six/five gun, should likely always wear a bowen rear sight—well unless we are talking about a super cute Vaquero, then a modified, custom welded rear and dovetail front would have to do.
For me, on this gun, I’d also need a new Bisley hammer. Cool thing about customs, you can have them however you want to roll them. Even if that is with an ovary, octagonal, banded barrel with dovetail front sight with a gigantic flow orange fiber optic rod.
When I think about putting an anaconda barrel on a S&W or Ruger, I end up arguing with myself. Part makes a compelling argument of how classy it could look—like my little Bowen 32/327 I have with an ovate S&W barrel. Then the other part is me loses the argument when I think of what my buddies would say if I wanted to chop my new F-250 to add a General Motors bed and somehow retro in a Dodge front grille.
