While not a Colt, I do have a USFA that currently is in line to become a 41 Special down at Mr. Harton’s. We could have done the 41 mag but I am more than pleased with the 41 Special. ...so what are the specs on the gun? Barrel length, standard or adjustable sights? My USFA Shooting Master that David Clements did could have been either a .41 Special or Magnum but chose Special just for something "special". When I was at the factory talking to them about the Shooting Master that was about to be released, they said that in their tests the .41 Magnum was the most they were willing to go in one of their guns. They made one up in .44 Magnum and with factory loads it quickly loosened up... They were going to bring the SM out in ".41 Short Mag" (Special) at the request of several big CAS competitors but said it could just as well be chambered in .41 Magnum. Bob

The USFA will have the standard sights except the barrel will wear a dift adjsutable front sight similar to the one on my light weight USFA. I believe the notes calls for a 4 1/2" barrel.

Nice... I had two SAA .45s that were identical except one was a Colt and one a USFA. Both were 4 3/4"...wish I had kept one of them to convert into a .41 Special.

I bought a Ruger Blackhawk once in 41 mag. It was brutal! Unlike a 44 mag or 357 mag, there were no factory downloads. Since I don't handload, I sold it.
