"Good luck with the brass bead front sight - Ruger no longer makes them; don't makes no sense." From Lipsey site: lipseys.com/itemdetail.aspx?itemno=RUGP35751 SIGHTS:Gold Bead Front/Adj Rear The new GP100 on Lipsey's web site has them with a gold bead front. I stand corrected, you can buy a new GP100 from Lipsey's and get the front sight... Just fun'n. Ruger doesn't catalog the old-style quick interchangeable bead front sight for the GP/SBH/RH anymore (unless they just started again and it's not show on their website yet. They did start making it again for the new style front sights that screw on. I can't tell from the pic on lipsey's if that's the quick-change or not. I hope I'm wrong and they are available again, for I want a couple myself.

It looked like someone built a fence with it LOL....It may have belonged to Matt Dillon at some point; He liked nailing up wanted posters with his Colt.

It was a police trade in…
I bought a Dan Wesson one time that was owned by a storekeeper. They literally used it for nailing tiny tacks into the wall when putting up their sales papers, etc.
I sanded about a 16th of an inch off the bottom of the grips, and still did not get all of the divots out of it.

What was the actual grit/type of the sanding sponge you used to get the scratches out?
Looks like the fine Scotch Brite pad worked really well to restore a brushed finish.

I used a file on the big dings. Seems like i used a 220 sanding sponge. Or there abouts.

I put one of the red Ruger fiber front sights on it. Now if it will just dry out, I’ll shoot it and see if it shoots to POA.

Congratulations on helping your daughter out with a good .357. It should outlast your grandchildren!
